He can only take so much

Austen is a great big brother. He will do anything for his new baby. He feeds him, changes him, "reads" to him, sings, dances, anything that needs to be done. There is one thing he can't handle as evidenced by this comment he made today:
"Mom! Peter barped on me. You take care of it. He's your baby."

I interpret that a different way. He's discovered that "ownership" depends on behavior. For example, when the baby smells bad, he belongs to the mother.

When he spells a word, does a good deed, or scores a touchdown, he belongs to the father.

I'm pleased to see Austen really beginning to grasp how our culture really works. He's going to fit right in.
